$2 Off at Asylum/City of the Dead Haunted House

$2 off Military Discount at City of the Dead and Asylum Haunted Houses
City of the Dead and Asylum are now together in one location!

Asylum Haunted House(which used to be coupled with 13th Floor Haunted House) is now teamed up and sharing a location with City of the Dead Haunted House. If you ask if they offer a military discount at the ticket booth the ticket distributor will ask to see you military ID and then continue to give you a $2 discount on the ticket option you decided to purchase.

My Personal Experience: This was my first time going to this haunted house since Asylum and City of the Dead teamed up. I had gone to City of the Dead previously before this merging took place and it was an awesome experience. I kind of knew what to expect, but had no idea what might have changed. Buying tickets and receiving the military discount were easy, just ask at the ticket booth and present your military ID. I have not gone through the online ticket buying process so I can not confirm whether you are able to receive the discount in that way.

Every time I have gone to City of the Dead I bought a Fast Pass or Skip The Line ticket. This particular haunted house seems to be quite popular and garners a crowd in both good and bad weather. Heed my warning when I tell you to check the weather and dress appropriately because this haunt is located in a tent and though it feels warmer inside you will still be able to see your breath and catch a chill inside the haunt.

Changes I noticed from my previous experience were the feel of the haunt being a little shorter, while it might not have been it felt like my time inside was a little bit shorter than my prior visit. I will say that I came with one other person and they allowed us to enter as is without pairing us with any other groups. This is great for people wanting as many scares as possible and this haunts pacing is on point compared to some others I have experienced.

Asylum/City of the Dead features a free arcade named, "The Carnival of Carnage". This is a mix of arcade games, a couple midway games, and a photo op. There's also a few roaming characters to help "motivate" you while you play. While I believe they have the same amount of free games available as in previous years, they definitely changed the layout for the arcade and made things less convoluted upon your exit from the haunted house area. If you had gone before you know you exited right into the arcade area. Now you exit to the dining area and photo op and have to walk past the concessions to get to, "The Carnival of Carnage" arcade.

Once again this was a great experience. I recommend going with a smaller crowd of maybe two to four people. You will get a higher amount of scares and great memories to hold on to. You can find Asylum's social media pages: here and City of the Dead's social media pages: here.
